Inkling's Day

In June we took a trip to England with the Clemson Pres Inkling’s group. I had a little free time to write this song. Enjoy!

Inkling’s Day

On the cliffs and the rocks I began to walk.
On the side of a hill on ole` Tintagel
With a view of a cave, and a lovely maid.
With such beauty as I can barely tell.

Chorus:
Come away, on an Inkling’s Day
Lewis, Tolkien, buses, trains and hot tea.
Oh, street side walking, people talking, football by the bay.
On this glorious, amazing Inkling’s Day.

So we packed in a van, and drove across the land.
Every hedge looming as we go.
Oh great, a straight away, now I feel OK.
`Til we round a curve and all cry out…OH NO! (Chorus)

Each day we would see, just what the weather might be.
Prepared to wear a coat all the day.
Can you put the windows down, and pass the sun screen around.
Hey, would you like to go and see a Minack play?

Chorus x2

Where Ever We Go.

We had some fun preparing this video for the New Covenant talent show.

Cooper River Bridge Run - 2009

April 4, 2009

Our whole family participated in the 2009 Cooper River Bridge run. In addition, a number from Sarah’s family ran as well, her Mom (Peta), Dad (Bill), Stephen, Ruth and Anna. Of those that ran in 2008, everyone improved their time in 2009. (I improved my time by 24 min.)  After the run, we were invited to the Citadel Beach House by the Hartney’s (Friends of the Bivans). Then we took in some of our customary Charleston activities.

Wonderful Wedding

March 23rd, 2009

Sarah’s brother, Josh Bivans, married Abby Davis in Vass NC. It was a wonderful wedding for a great couple. Our family played our part. Kat hosted the register, Kaitlin and Chloe were flower girls, James was a ring bearer, I was a groomsman, and Sarah sang the Lord’s Prayer.

School Pics

We recently took school pictures for the homeschool year book.

Cute "Couple"

Sarah and I were invited to an Annual benefit for Calvary Home for Children.

However, I could not attend so Sarah and JT had a nice “date”. Aren’t they CUTE!!!

Kat goes Skiing

Katherine went Skiing with the Jr High from New Covenant Church.  She had a great time. (They even managed to get lost …which is a requirement for ANY successful youth outing!)

Kaitlin turns 7!

Kaitlin turned 7 on Nov 3.  She is growing sweeter every day, and loosing teeth like crazy!

Kaitlin and her big cookie!

Like Father like son…

A few months after I appeared in Leatherheads, JT tried to show up his old man by appearing in a photo shoot for a PX250 motorcycle produced by a TTI-Group company. (Thank you Cheryl Hopkins)  Sad part is, JT made more per hour than I did! (But just between you an me……I think I won out, based on celebrity status and all…)

Charleston Trip 08

We recently went to Charleston with my parents for a lil’ vacation. We stayed at a great house on Sullivan’s Island. The house is on the very very end of the island. Out the front door is the inter coastal water way. Out the back is the international shipping lane with Ft. Sumter in the distance. Each time a ship would come by we would ring one of many telegraphs and log the ship’s name and country of origin. It looked like you could reach out and touch them. We also took in some carriage rides, ghost tours, church tours, Ft Moultrie , Ft Sumter, Boone Hall Plantation, slave market, and some pralines of course. Sarah and I also had a chance to catch up with fellow Covenant alumn Jennifer Thompson (Schempp) and her new husband.
